What is Anywhere® Smiles?

Anywhere Smiles® is our remote orthodontic treatment system. Thanks to innovative technology, it uses Invisalign® and remote appointments to straighten your smile at your convenience.

Who is eligible for Invisalign®?

We offer Invisalign® treatment for patients of all ages, from those in early orthodontic treatment—around ages six to ten—to adults. To confirm if you are a good candidate for Invisalign®, we recommend requesting a complimentary consultation with Dr. Yazji. Around 60% of our patients at Smarter Orthodontics are Invisalign® patients!

How can I speed up my orthodontic treatment?

We know that you want to finish your orthodontic treatment and see your beautiful new smile as fast as possible. If you listen to Dr. Yazji’s instructions, wear your aligners and/or braces, rubber bands, etc. as prescribed, and practice good dental hygiene, your treatment will be on track.

When should my child first visit an orthodontist?

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that a child first visit an orthodontist around the age of seven. This will make sure that Dr. Yazji can correct any orthodontic issues as early as possible to prevent future, more extensive issues down the road.

Do I still need to visit the dentist if I’m going to the orthodontist?

Absolutely. Plan on still visiting your dentist every six months for your regular cleanings and checkups. This will make sure that your dental health is in tip-top shape while you are undergoing treatment.

Do I have any food restrictions with Invisalign®?

No—you can eat whatever you want while you are undergoing Invisalign® treatment. This includes popcorn, pretzels, sticky candy, you name it! However, just make sure to brush your teeth before you pop your aligners back in.

Do I have any food restrictions with traditional braces?

Yes, you will have to be careful with what you eat if you have traditional braces. Foods to avoid include crunchy snacks—such as pretzels, popcorn and chips—hard cookies, sticky or chewy candy, corn on the cob and raw vegetables. These foods can harm your braces, which may slow down your treatment time.

How do I clean my Invisalign® aligners?

We recommend sticking to a soft-bristled toothbrush and a gentle, clear, liquid soap. Gently scrub your aligners, but remember—don’t use toothpaste, and don’t soak your aligners in mouthwash or anything with dye that may stain your aligners. If you wish, you can also buy cleaners that are specially formulated for aligners. When cleaning them, just make sure that you are only using warm water and not hot!

Can I drink water with my Invisalign® aligners in?

Yes—water is the only beverage you can drink with your aligners in. Make sure you take your aligners out before drinking anything else, such as coffee, tea, soda and sparkling water, and rinse your mouth with water before placing your aligners back in.
